Happy New Year!

Posted on 29th December 2017 |

Well 2017 has been an incredible year for a number of reasons, not least that we’ve had the best performance so far of the Sherrington story. In executive search there’s no better feeling that making good placements, giving good news about a job offer and finding winning talent for your client’s business, but here’s a few other feel-good moments we’ve enjoyed this year...

  • Moving into new city centre office in March (thanks Sue and Richard for making us so welcome this year)
  • Being nominated as a finalist for Entrepreneur of The Year in the Cheshire Business Leaders Award 2017
  • Being shortlisted for the finals for Micro Business of The Year in the High Sheriff’s Awards For Enterprise 2018 (awards in March, watch this space!)
  • Finding valuable unpaid work experience for two bright young pupils of my old school, The King’s School Chester (Thanks to Simon at Sykes Cottages and Duncan at Bilfinger for helping these lads chalk up some experience, really appreciated)
  • Successfully recruiting three new Managing Directors for clients during 2017 - we look forward to supporting you as you build your teams in the new year.
  • Working with amazing clients in places like Paris, Belfast and Chicago!!
  • Sponsoring the annual Liverpool ICS summer social onboard the incredible Daniel Adamson (a newly reconditioned steam tugboat) moored by the Albert Dock (pics on the website!)
  • Listening to our recent placement, the newly appointed Director of Tourism at Marketing Cheshire, Rachel McQueen take the stage at their annual conference - great to see you doing so well Rachel.
  • Bumping into two of this year’s placements at the Marketing Cheshire Awards and seeing how they’ve become good friends since working together (happy new year Julie and Holly!)
  • Hosting the inaugural Sherrington Autumn Reception with fifty delegates with speakers including the Lord Mayor of Chester, Jamie Christon COO of Chester Zoo and Commander Ian Millen (Retd) - thanks again to all who came and to our speakers who did us proud.
  • Completed executive coaching programme for senior executive going through major career transition and helping him move from from a place of doubt and uncertainty to one of confidence and clarity. This was a particularly rewarding project and was the first of several executive coaching projects we’ve delivered this year.
  • Working with several new clients in the Chester area including Grosvenor Estate and the UK's fastest growing broadband provider ITS Technology Group.
  • Successfully completing retained executive search assignments in a really diverse range of sectors including Tech & IT, Financial Services, Maritime & Shipping, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, Charity / Third Sector, BPO / Business Services and more.

As you can see it’s been a busy year. As we look to 2018 we must focus on the positive interactions we've experienced over the last twelve months and be grateful for the successes we've enjoyed. Thanks to everyone we’ve worked with over the last year and wishing you a very happy new year, Rob.
