Increase in Executive Search enquiries from maritime employers 

There's no question that the last ten years have been extremely turbulent for the global maritime sector, though executive search providers in this space have ridden the storm somewhat better than their counterparts in the contingency recruitment market. Where global recruitment freezes have impacted hiring in the lower ranks and skills gaps in engineering have hampered maritime agencies abilities to deliver for their client's technical requirements, the need for accomplished leadership talent has been continuous throughout and the value of relations with a reputable executive search partner with a pedigree in the shipping industry has clearly had profound benefits for employers during these challenging times. We know this because our services have been called on more and more from clients in this space. We've seen a steady increase in repeat enquiries from clients for whom we've delivered successful campaigns, proving the value client's enjoy from a long term partnership with Sherrington. 

Since our inception in 2014 we've been proud to recruit senior leaders and managers for some very well respected maritime businesses. In 2018 we're beginning to see a trend of ongoing repeat business. Where we've historically worked with a client to appoint an executive team member, we're now seeing that person revert to Sherrington when it's time for them to recruit managerial level personnel in their own teams. This is testament to  both the successful outcome of the original retained search assignment AND the positive candidate experience we strive to give every candidate we engage. Despite churn and attrition for the roles we recruit being significantly lower than less senior roles due to the relative headcount in executive teams versus other departments, we know that by delivering lasting and successful executive appointments for our clients we'll see the fruits of our labour down the line when larger numbers of less-senior managerial-level search assignments are mandated by the very people we've appointed.
