On the evening of Thursday 21st September 2017, Sherrington Associates was proud to celebrate its third anniversary with clients and friends at the first Sherrington Autumn Reception. Held in the opulent ball room of Booth Mansion beneath the Sherrington offices, over forty guests attended to celebrate with Rob and Joanne and to listen to fascinating talks from two of Sherrington's clients.
First to speak was Councillor Razia Daniels, the Lord Mayor of Chester, who commented that the event was actually her 100th event as Lord Mayor of Chester. The Lord Mayor praised Sherrington for its success in the last three years and said how positive it was to see a young executive search firm thriving within the city walls.
The Lord Mayor was followed shortly after by a rousing speech from Commander (Retd) Ian Millen, who had engaged Sherrington in 2016 to deliver an executive coaching programme as he transitioned from his role as Chief Operating Officer at a leading maritime intelligence outfit in London through to a successful portfolio director. Ian explained how Rob's executive coaching programme had supported him through a period of major change and uncertainty and how their regular sessions had helped him gain the clarity and confidence to build his career as a successful Non Executive Director.
Finally, the guests listened to Jamie Christon, Chief Operating Officer of Chester Zoo, explain how Sherrington Associates' recruitment interventions over the last twelve months have helped to strengthen its senior management team during a period of major change and expansion for the zoo. Jamie's insights into the zoo's future plans to 'prevent extinction' of a range of endangered species made for a captivating talk.
