Family Business Expands
Growing a family business is one of the most exciting and rewarding journey's imaginable. Sherrington Associates was founded in July 2014 by husband and wife team Rob and Joanne McKay. Rob had worked in recruitment and executive search for his whole career and always had aspirations of building a family business. Joanne had been an Assistant Head Teacher at a school in Liverpool. Both had studied at Liverpool John Moore's gaining bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Biomedical Science respectively and after starting a family they aspired to build a legacy that would give them as much enjoyment as it gave their clients value.
After an incredible first five years, during which the business has grown year on year, being shortlisted for numerous industry awards and gaining a reputation as a leading boutique executive search outfit, the team has expanded with appointment of Rob's sister Laura as Sherrington's Executive Search Consultant.
Over the years the business has developed a robust portfolio of outsourced research partners who have until now supported the research and identification element of retained executive search assignments, however as the business looks to the future and it's continued organic growth, the model will evolve to include more in-house delivery, largely led by Laura.
Following a lengthy career in the corporate travel sector, Laura has previously managed teams of business travel consultants for leading corporate travel agent Flight Centre Business, managing the commercial travel needs of prestige corporate clients across the UK. Laura studied French at Leeds University and has lived and worked across the globe, including France, China, Africa, and Thailand. Laura speaks fluent French and intermediate Arabic and has a passion for international cultures, something that will bring value to our international search mandates.
