Posted on 3rd February 2020 | Vacancies

Sherrington are pleased to be the retained executive search partner for a leading UK-based medical devices supplier. Supporting their owners to fortify the senior management team with the appointment of two senior team members, Sherrington is currently engaged in a recruitment project to appoint a Head of Finance & Operations and a Head of Sales to the business.

Our Client

Our client is one of the leading distributors of cardiovascular medical equipment in the United Kingdom with a rich heritage spanning over three decades. Having enjoyed strong early growth following the acquisition of the business twelve years ago, the new owners soon established a strong presence in the market. The business was founded on a culture of transparent collaboration with every human touchpoint, both internally and externally, something that has served them extremely well over the years and formed the basis of a business that people in the medical profession know and trust.

Having acquired the exclusive distribution rights to a number of leading cardiovascular products including pacemakers, stents and non-invasive monitoring products, the business has grown their product portfolio by slowly introducing a range of consumable items including radiation protection products.

Now, as the board looks to the future, they have determined an ambitious scale-up strategy focused on both sales process automation and expansion of the field sales team. Recent investment will enable the business to invest in cutting edge IT platforms including a brand new ERP system, along with interventions to develop staff and the recruitment of two senior managers -  a Head of Finance & Operations and a new Head of Sales. This is an incredible opportunity for two aspiring directors looking to take their career to the next level.

The Opportunities

In addition to leading the financial stewardship of the business, the successful candidate will also be responsible for all aspects of business administration including logistics, finance, HR, ICT, supply chain and customer service. We are looking for a commercially-focused, ‘big-picture’ chartered finance leader coming from any sector but with exceptional relational qualities and ambitions to take a lead role with broad-ranging scope within a rapidly-evolving, SME medical devices business.
