Coaching Goal - 'Improving Time Management & Directional Clarity'

"I came across Rob McKay at Sherrington Associates when I recognised that I wanted to develop my career but didn’t know in which direction. A colleague recommended using a coach who worked with the GROW (Goal, Reality, Options, Will) model of coaching which happened to be Rob’s preferred method.

From the very beginning Rob was able to steer me through the self-analysis required to determine what aspects of my current situation I wanted to keep and where I wanted to develop. Rob’s matter of fact manner made intimidating tasks seem rather mundane and over our six sessions, I achieved things I probably never would have if I had tried to do them alone.

Rob was quick to understand how my current professional life was organised and able to give insight and help me reflect on issues that I hadn’t quite realised before, which led to some ‘a-ha’ moments. He was able to give me support with sensitivity and thoughtfulness whilst being able to drive directly to the heart of the matter and help me define what needed to be dealt with in order to move to the next step.

Each session with Rob was followed by a written report that neatly and succinctly captured what had been discussed at the session and defined the next steps for my personal development, making me accountable for the work I needed to do to grow. Slowly but surely, through testing several options I was able to outline the professional life I wanted to create, which was to move from developing one business into using those skills to support a range of businesses in a consultancy role.
