On May 15th 2024, Sherrington Associate's Founder and Managing Director Rob Mckay, along with Executive Search Consultant & Head of Future Sustainable Leaders Division Joe Onions, travelled to the SECC in Glasgow to take part in this year's All Energy exhibition.
This year's event co-located with the DCarbonise Conference, providing a unique opportunity for professionals involved in the energy transition to come together under one roof. Having recruited senior leaders and managers for clients in the energy sector for decades, this was a chance to catch up with clients old and new. The team caught up with previously placed candidates and clients at British Hydropower Association, Bilfinger UK, Global E&C, ABB, DFDS and more.
The plenary session opened with talks from a range of speakers including Professor Jim Skea, CBE FRSE, President, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC); and The Rt Hon Claire Coutinho MP, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, both stressing the need to deliver net-zero at speed and at scale. Throughout the day the team spoke to dozens of innovative tech-businesses, service providers, engineering outfits and companies supporting all areas of renewable energy from wind to solar, CCS to hydrogen, all playing a role in moving towards a decarbonised energy sector. It's been fantastic to see the focus on renewables and clean-tech at this year's event.
