Head of Business Development
Sherrington Associates are the retained search partner for one of the most exciting boutique private equity investment firms in the UK. Having supported a number of the companies in their portfolio with executive search services over the last eight years, in 2017 we were asked to recruit a senior technical leader for an exciting new acquisition in the wastewater technology sector. Following the success of that appointment, the business now looks to appoint a Head of Business Development and has once again retained Sherrington Associates to carry out the search.
The company are an innovative wastewater treatment company providing large-scale commercial water-users with unique containerised systems that integrate proven solids separation technologies with unique patented electrocoagulation know-how to provide a highly robust, efficient and chemical-free solution to a wide range of wastewater treatment requirements. As part of their value proposition they provide a full turn-key engineering and maintenance solution for customers, delivered through a nationwide team of technical process engineers. Supporting some of the largest names in FMCG manufacturing, utilities and the oil and gas sector, the business has demonstrated solid growth since their acquisition in 2014. Now, following recent investment of upwards of £2m, the business is entering it's 'scale-up' phase and is looking to appoint a highly accomplished Head of Business Development to lead commercial activity for the business.
Sherrington have been tasked with searching for, assessing and recruiting a candidate with extensive experience in the water / wastewater sectors, hailing from either a water supply or water treatment background and capable of playing a lead role in a well-backed SME with significant growth aspirations over the next five years. Initially joining as Head of Business Development, the successful candidate will through their own contributions to the growth of the business, play a crucial role in the senior management team. Along with their peers in the SMT they will have an active influence in determining the future shape of the business as the organisation grows both domestically and internationally.
