As the business grows across the European territory, a requirement has arisen to recruit an experienced sales leader to lead, develop and grow sales in the UK market. The European Sales Director currently performs a dual role, essentially leading and managing the regional sales team across Europe, whilst simultaneously leading sales in the UK. The appointment of a capable UK Sales Manager will allow the Sales Director to focus on leading the team, whilst positioning a territory-focused sales leader to leverage further growth in the UK.
The ideal candidate will need to bring an impressive background in selling building-envelope solutions to the UK construction sector, building close and effective long-term relationships with contractors and specifiers.
Role Profile
The role of UK Sales Manager is a key position within Huntsman Building Solution as they plan for further growth within the region. This position will be responsible for building on the existing network within the UK by developing new relationships and nurturing pre-existing ones.
You will onboard and retain target customers by providing an outstanding technical and commercial support service, whilst identifying opportunities to upsell.
Principle Duties:
- Achieving assigned sales targets in line with the company’s financial budgets and strategic goals
- Gaining an in-depth knowledge of project requirements to offer technical support and guidance
- Strategic prospecting of both warm and cold targets by phone and email
- Conducting introductory meetings with new prospects
- Developing and managing structured account plans for key accounts
- Working in tandem with Huntsman’s Technical Team to ensure specifications are selected by contractors throughout tender process
- Presenting Huntsman’s range of CPD’s to relevant customers
- Identifying projects and applications where Huntsman’s products can be specified utilising customer relationships and systems
- Resolving customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional and internal publications, and attending networking events
Person Specification
Qualifications:
No formal qualifications are required, however architectural or engineering qualifications including degree, diploma or similar, or the industry recognised qualifications would be advantageous.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience in technical field sales in a construction related environment
- A good broad knowledge of construction, design drawings, standards, and build sequencing
- Existing knowledge of spray foam, gas-proofing, waterproofing or fireproofing is advantageous
- Knowledge and experience of construction site practices and safety procedures
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and successful implementation of a sales strategy

Remuneration & Selection Process
Salary
Up to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Benefits
- Bonus: Target 6%, Maximum 9% of annual salary
- Car Allowance: Allowance (Please confirm) or Company Car

- Holidays: 25 days + birthday + statutory bank holidays
Hours & Flexible Working
This is a full-time position, the candidate will occasionally need to travel to client locations, with occasional overnight stays and some intermittent international travel.
Selection Process
Applications Closing Deadline: 1st March at 3pm
Selected candidates will be invited to an initial telephone interview carried out by Sherrington Associates.
Longlisted candidates will then be invited to a face-to-face competency interview carried out by Sherrington Associates.
Longlisted candidates will be asked to carry out a BVC Personal Values Assessment®, the results of which will be shared with both Sherrington Associates and the interviewing panel at Huntsman.
After the above stages, a shortlist will be invited for interviews with members of the interview panel at Huntsman.
Selected candidates will be invited to final stage interviews and will meet the senior leadership team to ensure culture fit and to ask any final questions. Details will be discussed at the time.
