Sherrington Associates is the retained search partner for highly acclaimed freight ferries operator Seatruck Ferries. We are now recruiting for a highly capable Commercial General Manager to lead the day to day commercial activities for the company across Northern Ireland, Ireland and the UK.
This is a rare and exciting prospect to lead an established commercial sales team within a fast moving and dynamic ferry business in the Irish Sea market. Seatruck now operates 72 departures per week and experienced traffic growth at three times the market level in 2016. In March this year it won the prestigious Mersey Maritime ‘Business of the Year’ Award, highlighting its position as the fastest growing freight ferry operator on the Irish Sea.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an impressive track record of commercial leadership within a relevant organisation, preferably within the freight ferry or logistics industry. More important is their experience of achieving commercial growth with innovative actions, motivating leadership skills and excellent customer account management. Experience of working in the Irish Sea market is highly advantageous, although candidates with transferable skills from other backgrounds will be considered.
Due to the geographical location of the primary customer base, the role will most likely be based in Northern Ireland and will involve regular travel.
