Having delivered successful retained search campaigns to recruit key personnel across the other companies in the group, Sherrington has now been asked to recruit a senior engineer to lead the engineering team within its wastewater treatment technology business....

The Company

Our client is a private equity backed technology business involved in the treatment of wastewater for customers in the process and manufacturing sectors. Providing a revolutionary wastewater treatment system that uses a process of electrocoagulation, its is able to save customers significant costs whilst enhancing current and future discharge limits and supporting CSR initiatives. Having acquired highly valuable IP from the original inventor two years ago, the business has recently secured £2m in new funding to scale the business. Already supporting some of the largest names in food and drink manufacturing, it now seeks to expand into new markets, including industrial, power, oil and gas and utilities.

The Role

This is a senior engineering role within a young and rapidly evolving technology business. The candidate will directly line manage a growing team of Field Maintenance Engineers who support customers with ongoing service and maintenance packages. Providing full project management, installation, commissioning, training and maintenance, the engineering team works with customers to provide the best solution for each individual site. Key to the role will be the candidate's ability to gain a deep understanding of the customer's effluent profile, challenges and requirements in order to optimise the solution to meet the customer's needs. As an influential member of the senior management team, the role will be key in shaping the future specifications of new technology and will contribute to the overall direction of travel of the business.

The Person

The successful candidate will be an experienced mechanical / chemicals engineer capable of leading a growing team of field-based maintenance engineers and with a sound understanding of wastewater treatment gained from hands on experience in a related business. Able to calculate resources efficiently and to manage time so as to achieve objectives, they will be comfortable working with customers in both manufacturing and industrial environments. The role will require travel around the United Kingdom and will be either home based or based from the head office in Yorkshire, depending on the location of the candidate.

Remuneration

  • Basic Salary - Negotiable depending on experience
  • Bonus - Eligible for profit related bonus paid annually
