Sherrington continues support for Race for the Rainforest project...

Despite original plans to race a group of business leaders in an ultra-marathon in Borneo being cancelled due to the pandemic, Sherrington has continued to support the work of Chester Zoo in Borneo through its' Race for the Rainforest campaign.

In March the team donated £5,000 to the campaign, double our original pledge made back in 2019. The funds will go directly towards crucial reforestation work in Borneo, rebuilding natural habitats for endangered species following the destruction of rainforests by the palm oil industry.

Then on April 1st (no joke), despite moving house that morning, Sherrington's Executive Resourcer Joe Onions embarked on a mammoth 3-Peaks challenge, battling wind, rain and snow to scale the three highest peaks in the United Kingdom in under 24 hours! Joe raised an additional £900 for Race for the Rainforest through his efforts.

A 3 Peaks

Borneo's deforestation is yet another human-induced disaster and by taking on the three peaks challenge, I wanted to contribute to Chester Zoo's solution. Being born and raised in Chester it felt especially personal to raise money for such an incredible locally based charity taking on the global challenge of conservation.
